The Venice, CA cottage where The Dude kicked back and sipped White Russians between bowling tournaments is on the market for $2.295 million. [via Gawker]

The home played a prominent role in the Coen Brothers cult hit The Big Lebowski, as the films plot is set in motion by a rude indignity performed upon the cottages living room carpet. The one bedroom unit is part of small compound of six units near the intersection of Venice and Abbot Kinney Boulevards, all six of which are included in the asking price. Built in 1928, the cottages underwent major renovations in 2005.
